Our goal is always to improve roadholding and handling, but without damaging the standard of comfort, and the overall ride quality that SAAB drivers are used too.
We cover many tens of thousands of miles in our own SAAB’s, and so the last thing we wanted to develop – is a road going racer with wildly stiff and low springs that becomes tiresome to drive on long journeys. However we do want the improvements in handling and body-control…
All our springs are designed in house using our own cars and then production made in Sheffield, England by specialist spring manufacturers. Our springs lower the car by 30mm (approx. 1″) and are nominally 20% stiffer than the standard factory setup. Power-coated for corrosion protection, the springs have a 5 year warranty.
With the springs fitted, driver confidence is greatly improved thanks to reduced body-roll, and better control of the cars weight over undulating and uneven surfaces. The 30mm lowering effect also reduces the cars centre of gravity, again promoting increased driver confidence.
The effect of lower and stiffer springs cannot be overemphasised, and should be fitted to every Classic 900. Koni Dampers can also be fitted with the springs to give a further improvement to the chassis dynamics.
Our springs are superb in all respects and cannot be bettered. Personally designed by Ed Abbott, also responsible for the suspension design for all our championship & race winning SAAB saloon cars.
